The Siam Surveyors Thai Tasar National Championship, 24th to 26th June 2011

 

NOTICE OF RACE

1. Rules
1.1 The Regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012
1.2 If there is a conflict between the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions, the Sailing Instructions will prevail.
1.3 Skipper and crew must wear an approved PFD at all times while afloat.

 

2. Eligibility and Entry
2.1 The Regatta is open to all boats of the Tasar Class that comply with the World Tasar Class Association.
2.2 Eligible boats must complete an entry form available at registration.  All participants must pay an entry fee before racing.

 

3. Fees
3.1 Entry Fee covers Skipper and one crew. Members of PYC or ACYC THB 2,000, Non-Members THB 2,500.

 

4. Schedule of Events
4.1 Registration will be held at ACYC on Friday 24th June from 1730 to be followed by Regatta briefing at 1800.
4.2 Depending on weather conditions, as many races will be held on 25th June and 26th June as are suitable to a maximum of 10 races.
4.3 Skippers’ Briefing at 0900 on each day of racing at ACYC.
4.4 There will be a maximum of 5 races on any day.
4.5 There shall be no warning signal after 1430 on the last day of racing.

 

5. Sailing Instructions
5.1 Sailing Instructions will be made available to competitors at the Skippers’ briefing prior to racing.

 

6. Venue
6.1 The waters of Ao Chalong and surrounding seas, Phuket.

 

7. Courses
7.1 Courses to be sailed will be detailed in the Sailing Instructions.

 

8. Scoring
8.1 The Low Point Scoring System will apply.
8.2 Three races are required to be completed to constitute a series.
8.3 When up to 4 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
8.4 When 4 to 8 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
8.5 When 9 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her two worst scores.

 

9. Prizes
9.1 For the Regatta, prizes will be awarded to the first three overall places.Additional prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the Organising Committee.

 

10. Disclaimer of Liability
10.1 Competitors participate in these races entirely at their own risk. See Rule 4, Decision to Race. The organising authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the races.
