Why Join

Phuket Yacht Club is in one of the safest and most perfect bays on the island, Ao Yon. The aim of the club is to introduce people to the sport of sailing and encourage others to participate in sailing, club racing and other water activities.

The Club offers Optimist and other dinghy sailing in addition to racing lessons for children and adults can be organised.  It offers recreational sailing and family day barbeques.

The Club’s community contributions include links with Sunshine House in Ko Sirey.  Children learn about sailing and participate in lessons, racing and family days at the Club. It is the club’s aim that these children have the opportunity to train and to participate in Optimist racing around Thailand.

The Club’s History goes back 40 years and is recognised as the oldest yacht club on Phuket. It has always been based in Ao Yon and has always concentrated on teaching sailing and water sports to as many as possible from all walks of life.

The Club currently holds events on selected Sundays; a race day with a Family Day BBQ/ buffet for all members and members’ guests.  We also will hold additional events in high season.

Members are also able to visit the club at other times. As part of your membership keys for the clubhouse facilities; shower, toilets, water, chairs and tables, are available for a deposit of 250 baht and can be used by club members outside club events. The club can also organise use of club boats.
